Weekend tales...

It was a glorious weekend.

After nearly 4 years, my husband and I saw the insides of a theatre, together once more. Our friends A & A, whom Akhil gets along famously with offered to watch him......errr....rather...we roped them in for the job. Once Akhil went for his nap, we headed out to the cinemas. The second day of 'Tha Da Vinci Code' and we were there! Cool. I'd read the book and was gung-ho abt watching it. It was a fairly good adaptation. So anyways, 2 and 1/2 hours later, we are driving back and wondering about the kind of reception we were going to get.

"Hi Amma....how are you doing?" he asks.....!

He was playing base-cricket (my term), with A & A . And he was having a jolly good time. (In our minds, we were already deciding what to watch next week!)

Anyways, the rest of the weekend was spent in full weekend style.....grilling some food outdoors, chilling out (quite literally) in the cold spring air........
But since this is Akhil's blog.....we'll focus on how he spent it....here goes.....

1. A (of A & A) roped him in to take care of the watering, while we lazed and watched on.

2. Playing base-cricket (cricket with a baseball-bat and baseball-ball). We adults took turns batting, while Akhil chose to do all the bowling, and everytime a fielder fell while fielding, he would squeal in delight, charge like a madman and plonk himself on the downfallen.

3. We spent lots of time playing in the park.

4. And when we weren't doing anything else, we just hung around!

5. Once indoors, we took to simple pleasures...watching, and talking to and singing to the fish!
It was restful and filled with laughter....the kind that one can share only with the best of friends! A & A, you guys rock!
