Goodbye Uma Aunty...

One of my earliest posts when I first started blogging was a 'Goodbye Anu Aunty'. We survived that particular farewell and I guess we'll survive this one too.

It went well. I reached his school and they were all having a game of duck and goose. I watched them, I watched my son in his best element and took lots of pictures. Then we went outside and I took some solos of him and his teacher. She mentioned that it seemed to be hitting him bit by bit and he was subdued at some points today.

At the end they both hugged and she asked him to be a good boy and always listen to his Amma and Appa. He nodded his head and was about to move away when she hugged him again and asked him to have lots and lots of fun. His face brightened up and he nodded once more. And that was it. I hugged her too, we said a goodbye and left.

Winkie will be home for the next 10 days before we head off on our vacation. If the weather permits, I want to have a picnic at Waterwhoosh with both my sons just one time before we go off to miss the glorious summer here.

And like Dottie said, here's to new commencements!

Touching posts...just the way you were blessed with a great first teacher for Winkie, you will also be blessed with more such in the next step of his life...Uma Aunty's teachings will be the foundation from which he is taking off - she will always be a part of his life...
You are lucky that he had a teacher who can even evoke such emotions out of you...most people are not that lucky. It's just "move from preschool to KG" that's it! No other feelings...

Just read the last 3 posts on Akhil's last day in school and a new beginning. Very touching. Though we do move on, its priceless to pen these down, especially for Winkie to read them when he grows up.
And Uma looks just like you describe her, very sweet, calm and composed.
