Hi Everyone.
Winkie's having an alphabet parade in his school in 2 weeks. Which means he need a costume. A homemade one. The idea is to choose a letter that he wants to be, and then design a costume using things that start with that letter. He has to wear it to school and stay in the costume all day long, which means it should be comfortable enough for him.
I have been thinking about it, but no ideas have come up. I was hoping to get some inputs from all of you to be able to decide.
Any ideas? :)

Hm. I first started off with A for Akhil and W for Winkie then realised its hard to find materials starting with those alphabets. So here's what I have so far. First item in the list is the one that can be used as the material. I SO wanted to include some writing material- since Akhil loves to write notes and letters :)
F for foam(or felt), friend, fruits, figs, fingers, fan...
C for cotton, crayon, color, can, car, cab, camera, cap...
P for paper, pen/cil, penguin, prayer...

How about R for Robot, and you can sew on/iron felt alphabets onto the costume, and he can be the alphabet robot.
Or c for caterpillar, which is basically a long gown like thing with lots of thick coloured horizontal stripes. Try Eric Carle's The Very Hungry Caterpillar for ideas. And to make it cooler for a big kid, may be he can take some caterpillars/millipedes in a glass jar to school, line jar with fine charcoal soil and add two leaves for food!

I for Ice cream !!! The perfect summer treat, he can be a giant ice cream cone with a scoopy hat, now how do you find material starting from I is another thing hehee....stick ice cream cones on to his costume maybe.....that was all the genius I had for today ;)
Ok, how about the letter M? With thambi's fascination with the moon and M can also be for M&M's and I am sure kids love it! With your new found interest in fabric painting you can make a colourful costume? I am sure it'll be a hit..Actually silly...I am sure you'll come up with a more intersting and thoughtful alphabet..
